WHAT IS WHITE WARE?
White Ware is a type of ceramic limestone material. A pre-cursor to clay pottery, ceramic is typically made up by taking mixtures of clay, earthed elements, powders and water and shaping them into desired forms. Jasper is a good mix of quartz and/or chalcedony as well as many other mineral properties. It is stemmed from the mineral content of original stone sediments or ash. It's an opaque stone, with a variety of silica included. Jasper is typically a stone that is red, yellow-brown or green in color. The red color (most popular) is due to iron inclusions within the stone. Patterns within the stone tend to form during the consolidation process and can be modified depending on how the minerals are deposited.
